Reading Notes: Hans Christian Andersen (Part A)

Note: These are all very famous tales, so I didn't feel the need to include a synopsis with these reading notes.

1. The Princess and the Pea

  • Inverse what the prince is looking for
    • Princess are too sensitive
    • Mom keeps trying to set him up
    • He puts a pea under the mattresses
      • If she complains, he refuses her
    • He falls in love with a street girl
      • Forgotten royal lineage so she ends up being okay to wed?
2. The Emperor's New Suit
  • Narrative from the swindlers' POV
    • The getaway during the parade
6. The Little Match Seller
  • The girl must live!
  • What if someone in the house takes the trash out and sees her?
    • She could get adopted!
    • Yes, I like this
